Paul Erkelenz has 34 years experience working with rural and remote businesses and communities in SA, WA, NT and NSW; focussing on farm business management and natural resource management issues, particularly in a rangelands pastoral context.

Paul jackarooed on a sheep station in the North West Pastoral region of South Australia prior to undertaking tertiary studies in agriculture. He had a lengthy career with the SA government, has worked for Rangelands NRM WA and, until recently, operated his own consultancy business, Astrebla Agribusiness & NRM Consulting, full-time. Paul is currently a Rural Financial Counsellor (RFC) with Rural Business Support, an independent not-for-profit organisation that operates the Rural Financial Counselling Service in SA and the NT. He is the RFC for the northern pastoral regions of South Australia.

Paul has been a member of the Australian Rangelands Society for over 25 years and has played an active part in the organisation of the Society’s biennial conferences whenever they have been held in SA since the late 1990’s.
