Range Management Newsletter

The Range Management Newsletter is one of the prime means of communication among members of the Society. It is a respected, established publication that reaches many rangeland readers quickly and easily.

From 2016, the newsletter has been accessible only from the ARS website.  Since late 2020, the newsletter has been published as an open-access document with every issue available to ARS members and the general public.  All issues dating back to 1974, including the predecessor of RMN – the Range Assessment Newsletter,  are available in the publication archives.

Three issues are currently uploaded each year (usually in March, July and November). A variety of articles is welcomed by the Editor; these are not peer reviewed unless requested by authors. Articles or views on any matter related to the use of rangelands for any purpose are acceptable provided that they are not defamatory. This includes research articles (upcoming, continuing and summary), travel summaries, conference and meeting reports, anecdotal observations, letters to the Editor, book reviews etc.

Articles may be submitted at any time and will generally be published in the next available issue of the newsletter. Articles should be submitted as Word files. Image files should be included separately and not embedded in the text files – please send these in the highest resolution you have available.

Contributions to the Range Management Newsletter should be sent to the Editor:
