Noelene Duckett, Editor, Range Management Newsletter.  Email:  aduckett7@msn.com

This issue contains some great information for those interested in the rangelands.  First up, we have the latest from the Organising Committe of the 19th Biennial ARS Conference to be held in Port Augusta in late September.  The conference program looks great so get your registrations in soon to ensure you are part of the action.

I have included a great ARS travel report from Peter O’Reagain who travelled to the USA earlier this year to attend the 70th Society of Range Management Conference in Utah and visit US Department of Agriculture (USDA) research sites in Wyoming and Colorado.  As part of his report Peter has included some fantastic photos so make sure you check these out.

There are also a number of articles of Society business.  There is an announcement regarding Dr Ron Hacker, our newest ARS Fellow;  an update from the Publications Committee;  and highlights from this year’s AGM held in May. Please note that at this AGM, Council appointed a new Secretary, Bob Shepherd, to replace the wonderful Carolyn Ireland, who did a sterling job in the position for many years.  Bob can be contacted at secretary@austrangesoc.com.au.

The last issue of the newsletter for 2017 is due out in November.  Please have any contributions to me by mid-October if possible.
